Explorer turnsignal/brake light

Question:

MY 1992 Explorer does not signal right turns or display the brake light. this occurs on the right rear light only. all other lights and signals work. The instrument panel right signal indicator  just has a steady glow when I activate the right turn signal. The front right turn signal bulb burns steadily when I activate the signal. Changing the bulb has done no good. Please help.JM.

Response:

Check the ground cable to that light. JS

Did you replace the old bulb with the exact same P/N new bulb? Response:

Was the old bulb burned out?  If it was, then it could be the new bulb (bad, or incorrect), or the ground wire.  If the bulb was NOT burned out, then it’s probably the grounding.  The steady indicator and front light indicate an incomplete circuit (vis-a-vis the ground or bulb). – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – >Definately sounds like a loose ground wire. >MY 1992 Explorer does not signal right turns or display the brake light. >this >occurs on the right rear light only. all other lights and signals work. Response:

The new bulb is bad or you have a bad ground at the right rear tail light
