Cat Back system?
Question:
What is it? How does it work? Can I use one on a 1994 Explorer? Any performance gains?
Response:
"Cat back" simply means changing the exhause from the Catalyic converter back to the end of your exhause system. I’m sure that somebody makes a system for it. Try explorer express 1-800-explorer. the performance gains will be different depending on your system, but I would estimate an average of 5-10 hp gain. Not a whole lot for the money you’ll spend to get one. Then again, right now you only have 160 hp, so any improvement would be really helpful. I’m seriously considering adding an cat-back system to myh 96 5.0 V8, not so much for the performance aspect, but I would like a little deeper and louder exhaust. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – > What is it? I just installed a Flowmaster system on my 94. $158 from Summit. Sounds alot better. I will keep you informed on milage issues. The hanger after the cat does not line up correctly, so you will have to rig a little. http://www.newsfeeds.com/ The Largest Usenet Servers in the World!
