Question:

What is it?  How does it work?  Can I use one on a 1994 Explorer?  Any performance gains?

Response:

"Cat back" simply means changing the exhause from the Catalyic converter back to the end of your exhause system. I’m sure that somebody makes a system for it. Try explorer express 1-800-explorer. the performance gains will be different depending on your system, but I would estimate an average of 5-10 hp gain. Not a whole lot for the money you’ll spend to get one. Then again, right now you only have 160 hp, so any improvement would be really helpful. Just bought a Gibson for my ‘93 XLT ($229 deleivered from http://www.truckperformance.com/). Plan on installing it this weekend. I just installed a Flowmaster system on my 94.  $158 from Summit.  Sounds alot better.  I will keep you informed on milage issues.  The hanger after the cat does not line up correctly, so you will have to rig a little.     http://www.newsfeeds.com/       The Largest Usenet Servers in the World!
