Question:

I have a 1994 Explorer.  They changed to R134a late in the model year. It is marked on the hoses.

Am considering upgrading to an early 90’s Explorer.  I’d like to know if all Explorers came equipped with the newer A/C refrigerant, or what model year they changed from the old refrigerant to the new stuff?                                              Thanks much,                                                          Geo.

I have a 94 with R134, so it looks like they switched in 94.

Actually, mid 94.  Look at the AC hose and look for R134 ..terry
