Hi,    I got about 60K on my tires before I replaced them with another set of Firestones.  The new tires are speed rated which is not available on a light truck tire.   Ray

I have a 1994 Explorer Sport, 4wd with the Firestone Radial ATXs. I was just curious, how many miles have people gotten out of the Firestones? I have 48K on mine and they still have plenty of tread left.         I have run into one problem, I had a severe pull to the left. I went to my garage to have the front end check and they noticed that there is a flat spot on the front left tire. We rotated the tire to the rear and the pull is gone. I now need to replace that one tire. My question is, Has anyone else had a similiar experience? I have never had to lock up the brakes and with the antilock sysytem working the tires do not lock up anyways. Could it be a slipped steel belt?                                                                                                                 Thanks in advance for any info passed my way.                                                                                                                                                                                 Matt. My ATXs started pulling at about 25,000 miles.  Misaligned front end ruined them at about 50,000.  They would have gone to around 70,000 had it not been for that but they still would have had the pull.  I replaced them with Michelin X radial MS truck tires of same size and higher load rating.  The Michelins ride and handle somewhat better then the ATXs did.   What you might consider doing on yours is to mount your spare and put the tire that pulls in the spare slot.  When you are ready to get all new tires put the original spare back as a spare and get ride of the other 4.
