Response:
My 1994 Explorer 2dr sport 4×4 with manual trans has started making a single sharp metalic sounding ‘clack’ intermitantly when coming to a full stop. Vehicle has 50,000 miles and otherwise runs very smooth and quiet. Brakes were checked ok. Seems to happen most often when coming to a smooth stop at low speeds. ie. in a parking lot or drive through line. Does not happen when coming to a stop from ‘normal’ driving speeds. Also happens both when coasting to a stop (clutch in and trans in 1) and/or with trans in neutral. Would appreciate any suggestions on where to look. My dealership has been "unable to duplicate problem" twice now. Thanks, Brian Lewis
