I’m confused. (My standard state, BTW). Prior to ‘97, V6 Explorers had transfer cases with 2WD, 4W high, and 4W low. I think I understand that, especially 2WD. All ‘97 with one of the two V6s have a transfer case with settings labelled 4WD auto, 4WD high, and 4WD low. I’m sure this has been discussed, but I musta missed it. What’s the difference? And, how does 4WD Auto contrast with the V8 models’ AWD? Thanks. — Alex. Neihaus Notes Marketing Lotus Development Corp.
