Thanks a lot.  I ended up ordering that very one.  I’m a little worried about the complexity of the wiring harness.  Did the instructions provide adequate information on which wires to tap?  Did you have to buy additional wire to mount it there?  The wiring harness below the back seat, was it under the carpet?  Thanks. Before you buy.

I have the shop manuals, so figuring out which wires was not hard. Easy installation.  Wire tail included is long enough.  Harness is under carpet.  The only problem was the instructions indicate general manufacturers color code.  I found unlock and lock reversed.  Simple to test once installed.  I pushed the lock button and it would unlock and visa versa.  You have to find a 12 volt source.  I think this was the thick white wire.  Maybe it was black/white.   I used a volt meter to find it.  Then I pulled the fuse for the circuit which is in the power distribution panel on the passengers side front wheel well in the engine compartment.  Cut the wires, spliced and soldered.  Put the fuse back in and tested. Essentially, there was the Lock wire.  This is cut and the Gray wire is attached to the end heading back to the drivers side door.  The Green wire is attached to the end heading to the passengers door. The Unlock wire is cut with the same procedure.  Blue wire to the drivers side and yellow to the passengers side.  White wire is connected to ground and Red is connected to Power.  Velcro the unit to the rear wheel well and voila! – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> J.C. Can anyone recommend an aftermarket remote keyless entry system for a 1999 Explorer ( 4.0 OHV, pw, pdl, etc. ).  I’m not looking for an alarm of anything difficult to install, just a remote door unlock.  Thanks. Before you buy.
