Question:

My message center is consistently reading about 6%-8% high.  Not bad, considering that all it knows about gas consumption is probably nothing more than the injector duty cycle (on/off time ratio).  Record the amount of gas required to fill the tank and the mileage since last fill-up.  Do it a few times, and you will be able to ‘calibrate’ your message center MPG reading too.
